Feria Valencia offers over one hundred thousand square metres for the Fair of the Families (29-11-2005)

Valencia - Feria Valencia is setting aside over one hundred thousand square metres of exhibition space for the 1st International Fair of the Families, to take place from 1st to 7th July 2006 as part of the 5th World Meeting of the Families (WMF), called by the Pope in Valencia at the same time.

As the president of Feria Valencia, Alberto Catalá, said today at the press conference announcing the new fair, the exhibition space at the International Fair of the Families will host hundreds of stands where associations, foundations, organizations and businesses connected with families can exhibit their projects and initiatives. From tomorrow, Wednesday 30th November, potential exhibitors can sign up for the International Fair on the webpage of the 5th World Meeting www.emf2006.org.

Also, the Feria Valencia has assigned another 40,000 square metres for camping, rest areas and other basic services for participants, including food and a crèche, especially important given the high influx of families with children expected at the fair, according to sources from the organization.

Alberto Catalá expressed his satisfaction with the "important role" Feria Valencia will play at the WMF, contributing its premises and infrastructures which will be available for the families. According to Catalá, the fair is expecting to receive more than 100,000 visitors throughout the week.

On another note, the general secretary of WMF, Henar Molinero, claims that the International Fair of the Families wishes "to offer the opportunity for participating organizations working in favour of the family around the world, to find a place where they can showcase their activities, projects and experiences".

The fair will be open to the public all day from 10 am to 7 pm from 1st to 7th July, and is aimed at "all types of participants, such as parishes, colleges, associations and movements", according to the same source.

Apart from the various different exhibitors, the fair is also organizing fun activities and entertainment free for all the family, with many initiatives encouraging family entertainment, Molinero added.

The World Meeting of the Families, called by the Pope for Valencia in July 2006, is expecting over one and a half million people for its acts, according to estimates from the 5th WMF foundation which is preparing the event.

On another note, the 5th World Meeting of the Families (WMF), has already registered over a thousand volunteers who have offered their time and collaboration on the webpage www.emf2006.org, which has had in excess of one million visits from internauts around the world.
