Cardinal López Trujillo meets priests and matrimonies in Valencia (28-10-2005)
Valencia - The President of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Colombian Cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo, has announced yesterday that all parishes in the world will soon receive a specific catechesis about family in different languages to prepare the 5th World Meeting of the Families, convoked by the Pope in Valencia, July 2006. According to Mgr. López Trujillo, who has held a meeting with priests and couples in charge of family pastoral in every parish, 'family is the only institution capable of providing what men and women really need to become adults'. 'It is the great strength and the driving force of society, and that is what will be shown in Valencia during WMF', he added. He also thanked all the effort to give a warm welcome to so many families from all over the world and explained the origin, process and contents of the preparatory catechesis, which will be distributed to all Conferences of Bishops around the world. It will also be published in the 5th WMF website (www.wmf2006.org). He also transmitted his conviction about the presence of Benedict XVI in this WMF. 'It's a noble challenge for the Church in Valencia and all over the world', he added. Avan |
