The South American Association of parents offers its support to the WMF (25-10-2005)

Valencia - The South American Association of Parents (UNIAPA), with more then 200 Million people in 12 countries, has offered its "total support and will" for the 5th WMF to the Archbishop of Valencia, Monsignor Agustín García-Gasco this morning, according to the president, Manuel Gandoy.

The team of directors of UNIAPA, who had an audience with the prelate in the Residence of the Archbishop, have announced they will inform all confederations that form the UNIAPA about the WMF. According to Gandoy, the UNIAPA has also planned to organize conferences about the family with the goal to participate at the International Fair for the Family that takes place from the 1st to 7th July 2006 during the WMF. The South American union as well convoked a general meeting these days "to prepare for such an important event", it has been added.

In the meeting with the Prelate were, as well as the president of UNIAPA, the Secretary General, Roberto Mauro, the president of the National Catholic Confederation of Parents, Luis Carbonell, and the autonomous president of CONCAPA in the Valencian Region, Guillermo Pérez Bonmati.

Currently the UNIAPA, constituted in 1988 and with head office in Madrid, consists of families in Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Spain, Portugal, México, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
