Preparations for the WMF are making "great" progress (07-09-2005)

VALENCIA - This Wednesday, the colombian cardinal Alfonso López Trujillo, president of the pontiff's councel for the families, returned to Rome after staying in Valencia for two days to supervise the ongoing preparations of the fifth WMF, which will be celebrated in the Valencian capital from the 4th to the 9th July 2006.

Before the cardinal left that morning, he held a last meeting in the archbishop's residence with the officials of the several committees. Here he has said, that he will return to Rome "very happy after this visit, to report the holy father about the magnificent preparations for the Meeting, on which are being worked at here in Valencia" according to AVAN, the local agent of the archdiocese

Also, the cardinal will show him "how marvles the progress of the work is and the rhythm in which it is done" and as well about the enormous excitement here in Valencia about expecting the holy father.

Finally, the cardinal López Trujillo thanked the archbishop of Valencia, monsignor Agustín García-Gasco, for "the praiseworthy efforts, that are being carried out by the committees."
During his stay in the City, the president of the pontiff's council for the families visited the Valencian Fair areal, where an international congress about the families will be held as one of the activities during the WMF, just as a great contest dedicated to show the initiatives and projects in favour of the family in the different countries of the world.
The WMF in Valencia in July 2006, according to estimations by the foundation in charge for the preparations, will attract between one and a half and two Million people for the main events, chaired by the pope Benedict XVI.
